In June, Disney Plus Hotstar announced that several big Bollywood films like Akshay Kumar's 'Lakshmi Bomb', Ajay Devgn's 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' and Abhishek Bachchan's 'The Big Bull' will be released on the Over-the-top (OTT) platform in September and October.

According to a recent media report, 'Lakshmi Bomb was to be released on September 9, 2020, though the last minute patchwork shoot was delayed. Because of which its release had to be postponed.' Hotstar's team has been considering their release calendar for the past several days and has finally decided on future action.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is one of the biggest events in India and they do not want to reduce the impact of films by releasing on the same platform in the middle of the IPL season. So after several meetings, Hotstar's team has put all the films on hold till November.

Currently, the tentative release date of ''Lakshmi Bomb' is Diwali Week, while 'Bhuj' and 'The Big Bull' are set for release in late November and mid of December. Interestingly, all these big films avoided their release to avoid a clash with the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, which often has a very huge impact on a film's box office collection.

In September and October this year, Hotstar viewers will be fully focused on the IPL. In such a situation, the films released in these two months can suffer a lot of damage. So ''Lakshmi Bomb' will be released in November to increase viewership.

After this Ajay Devgn's 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' will be released in December. Like 'Lakshmi Bomb', 'Bhuj' and 'Big Bull' are yet to be shot and the patch is expected to be completed by the end of October. Currently, the post production work of 'Bhuj' and 'Big Bull' is going on in full swing.
